Dr. Jian grew up in Los Angeles, California and kicked off his academic journey at UC San Diego, where he earned a degree in Biology and built a foundation for a career in dentistry. From there, he went on to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and where his passion for service and community outreach earned him the Humanitarian Award from the International College of Dentists.
During dental school, Dr. Jian completed a fellowship in the Michigan LEND program, an interdisciplinary leadership training program that taught him how to better serve the needs of infants, children, and adolescents with or at risk of special health care needs. He went on to complete his pediatric specialty training at the renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Jian has practiced in a variety of settings, gaining extensive experience with diverse patient populations from metropolitan areas like Philadelphia and New York City to suburban Long Island and central Pennsylvania. Today, he brings his calm, gentle demeanor, individualized patient approach, and world-class education and experience to your own backyard in Frederick, Maryland.
During his free time, Dr. Jian teaches at Penn/CHOP, educating the next generation of pediatric dentists. Outside the office, you might catch him exploring local coffee spots, playing board games with his wife, or planning his next tiny trip — all while dreaming up ways to make dentistry a little more delightful for everyone.
